I am a failed space cowboy – i do listen to bebop though – and don’t like to hitchhike – especially not through the galaxy. Born in 1975 in Basel, Switzerland. I inherited a Canadian citizenship from my mom and enjoyed being drunk in Vancouver – not under a volcano. I live with my wonderful wife and two very cool kids – not to forget Max – the dog who has his name from Max Frisch but is pronounced M\u00e4x because of Stranger Things – in a suburb of Basel. Stranger Things was actually a fun flashback for me because Stephen King got me to read when I was a teenager. Nietzsche and Kant followed which I think is fitting. I first studied German and English Lit but due to the sickness and death of my mom I kind of lost my way. There comes the Vancouver story. After that I studied Law, because if Mani Matter did it, it couldn’t be a wrong thing to do. Finished that okayish and went corporate. Since then I have been working in the field of management in different roles, getting more into training and eventually telling people how they should do stuff. While mainly working and being a family person – you know from changing diapers to cleaning teenager’s mess to gardener and facility manager – I wrote some science fiction stories. One day out of the blue – or into the blue? – I realized that all this management thing is quite interesting. Not quite like Immanuel but nevertheless, so I started to read more, trying to get it, get the data, the people and all that jazz. Eventually I formed some ideas. And here we are today: I’m writing these essays to bring the ideas of other people a bit closer to you and introduce you to the strange land of my own thoughts regarding management, companies and systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
